Ash Wednesday Photoblog
Ash Wednesday, a sign that marks the start of the Lenten Season. And of course, a word to all porketarians out there. No meat!
And for food lovers, only 1, not two, not three BUT 1 meal per day.
Moving on, I was able to pass by our school hut where the student council usually place
some gimmick or something. This time, it was YFC, and they posted a sign:
And above the sign is…
Free = Candies (I get this part)
Candies = Cheap
and
God’s love=Free
then God’s love = Cheap? tsk tsk tsk…
Just a thought!

nice post!

They should have said:
candies=sweet
In that case, it’s proactively presented for those who might interpret it.
the logic is wrong. how can we compare candies with God’s Love. Candies is cheap. that’s it. God’s love is free. and that’s it. no comparison.
@Mikes
I agree! Besides, nothing in life is for free, only God’s love is.
@candies and God symbolism.
I guess CDU studes got the comparison right. Candies are sweet, so is God’s love. Candies are cheap, so is God’s love. Candies are free, so is God’s love.
The last two symbols can only be interpreted through childlike focal glass (hehehe), the point of view of children who purchase candies cheaply (if they buy one, which means believers exercising their free will to commit to that ‘leap of faith’) and receives candies for free (if their parents or godparents give them, which means believers acquire the belief of God through nurture and tradition).
ERRATUM: Sorry, Velezians, not CDU. Metaphors, not symbols. Hahay.
