quick peek, what's for dinner

Gentlemen Tsao (not real name) walks around the streets of Shanghai bidding everyone a good evening. Dressed in is smart suit and his pair of slacks, truly he is dressed as a gentlemen. Along with him is his neat paperbag with his treasures neatly arranged. Wonderful evening it is for Mr. Tsao and he seemed to enjoy his evening. Strolling around in the well-lit streets, the cold bothers him not as he stretches his face, sharing a priceless treasure called a smile.

Such a wonderful evening it is for a lovely stroll in the cultural capital of China. But a wonderful evening would not be complete without a fulfilling meal. So Mr. Tsao then heads to his favorite corner where all the delicious treats are forsaken. And so he he bends down as he peep into his Silver Container where dinner shall be served.

I took this photo in Shanghai, China in one government sponsored study tour. This man amazed me because he looked well dressed but then all of a sudden he bends down and scavenges the trash can. A meal waiting for him in the bossom of the shiny container.

It reminds me of how I should be grateful for the little things that can make my day and shove away those things that ruin it.

Life should be more like a Shanghai Stroll.

Home Sweet Home

This picture was taken with my Samsung E590 on my way to school. I was deeply saddened cause if you look closely at the lower left corner there is an orange flower. There is actually several of those surrounding this small home. They are plastic flowers picked from the dump and a desperate attempt to beautify their simple dwelling place.

When have you called your house a home? Whether you live an a mansion or a small apartment, there is more to material definition of what is a home.

Happiness is simplicity

Life in its simplest pleasures.

Often times, in the pursuit of getting what we desire we forget what is important in life. We become shrouded in the hunger for power, for wealth, for fame, and for most of us… for love.

These flames of desires, instead of motivating us and helping us to move forward, become untame to the point of consuming us. But it is also in brief moments that we stop and embrace, the simple joys of other people. And it is on those moments, that we are once more, awakened.

Cassandra and Her Dolly

Toccata y Fugue en D Minor

Cassandra is a sweet girl who was silent most of her time. She wasn’t like most of the children of her age. Although she already grew older, she didn’t fully embrace her teenage nature.

She spends most of her time staying in the dark corners, in the shade, away from the sun. Instead of going out with her friends, she spends most, if not, all of her time talking to her Dolly. Wherever Cassy goes, Dolly follows. At least that what some curious neighbors observe.

There are times when Cassy happens to have accidents. Accidents such as the vase breaking, the food spilling, the TV set only receiving static. The parents of Cassy thought that this is merely due to her being lonely and they even considered that Cassy should have a pet. But that’s when it got worst, because they caught the pet Dog dead, and Cassy holding a Knife on one hand while the other hand held on to Dolly.

“Cassandra Mariz Montague! What have you done?!”

“It’s not my fault! It’s Dolly who did it!”

“Cassy! You cannot blame a doll for what actions you have done! It is time you grow up from such foolishness. You are already 18 years old!”

This is how Cassy’s life is. Full of accidents which she claims to be all Dolly’s fault. Come to think of it.. Dolly seems to have a life of her own.. and more.

ABOUT THE SET

Bea tWist: Le Vampyre

Last Friday, my dear friend Bea Sagun, decided that the last shoot was cool, and wanted to take it to the next level.

She wanted her accessories to have a gothic feel, yes, a Gothic feel, so we had a shoot at my house.

Nope. *smirk on my face… I am using Field Lights. That’s right! Field lights. Those harsh yellow lights that construction sights use. So how did I do it? Well, it has a lot to do with the white balance.
