I was actually invited to the opening of this new concept store in SM City Cebu. Toshiba Service Center in Cebu is finally available!

Shall we dance kaayo si Atty.

Being a technology and gadget freak myself, I eagerly inserted the opening of the Toshiba Concept store in Cebu in my schedule.

The big people from Toshiba came all the way from Singapore for this important opening.

The whole ceremony started with a very traditional Filipino “blessing” of the store then the ribbon cutting.

Officially open! Ribbon cutting

From what I remember, Toshiba has been all over different technology related stuff from batteries to Laptops. Now they have a store in Sm City Cebu complete with an accredited service center for Toshiba Products.

Finally consumers of the Toshiba branded products will have a greater sense of security with the presence of this first ever Toshiba Service Center in Cebu. We were given the chance to

Toshiba moves on to the next level in design and quality

After the store officially opened we (me and the Cebu Bloggers) decided to check out their latest releases.

Netbooks galores

Now we can see different high quality, business class laptops and even new entry level netbooks for a new level of competition against leading brands in the computer market.

The real highlight of the products of Toshiba is the Hand Gesture Technology for wireless command to the laptop. If given a situation where you cannot access your computer because of reasons like dirty hands then the wireless technology: Hand Gesture, can help you.

Clicking applications with the flick of a thumb

We were give n the chance to sample this awesome technology. Just like how one newly experienced the mouse, we started off with some awkward motions on the screen but we were able to get the hang of it.

Testing out the Hand Gesture technology

The computer screen provides a live view of hat the computer can “see”. This way we can tell if the hand gestures we are doing is right or wrong.

Giving the bloggers a little demonstration on the hand gesture technology

It was a wonderful experience having been one of the first few to try out these new line of products from Toshiba. I am quite excited to see what new things they have to offer to the consumers later on. The laptop market is continually a tough market.

Good luck to Toshiba!

great site for a prestigious company…indeed Toshiba is a well respected brand…but sad to say the staff of this said concept store at present is a bit frustrating, i dont think the admin knows on whats going on coz frankly speaking even the manager of this store doesnt know how to handle customers…i did go there so many times and i can still remember her name “MARIFEL”……seriously the service sucks and seems like she doesn’t know what shes doing…very unfit to be part of such prestigious company…

    yeah! first hand experience!

recently had a problem with my unit (still within the 7day replacement pd), asked for replacement , had them test the unit, crew agreed since he noticed how the unit works (slow for an i series unit), talked with his manager and went biased..tsk..tsk..tsk
remedy offered was to bring the item to their service center (much added hassle)
why not just replace it since it’s still within warranty

too bad i wasn’t able to take note of their names..not a good center to recommend tho

hope the company can do something about it
they carry their brand so they must learn to handle customers the best way possible.
poor company, they will be losing potential customers coz of these kind of people
