Elsalvador Beach Resort
Elsalvador Beach is one of the more affordable beaches in Cebu. Cebu is quite popular for its beaches and I guess the need for those who are aiming for budget barkada trips is starting to grow.
An hour plus ride away from the main City of Cebu, Danao’s Elsalvador Beach Resort is a nice place to go to. The Cottage is around 750php. Not bad for the price but there’s no outlet so good luck to those who wanted to bring some music with their big speakers.

Elsalvador Entrance
The family and staff decided to go visit the place for our little outing. The ride was okay for it wasn’t really congested in traffic despite it being a weekend and a “beach day” in Cebu. Note that the visit was during Summer.

Green Seaweed during low tide
The beach has white sands but when you get in the waters the sand is rather covered by rocks. I think their sand is just artificial or bought from elsewhere. Well, at least there’s an area where you can play Beach Volleyball and other team building activities.

There are some species seen around the shore
The water doesn’t have that much fish as compared to other beaches but I did get a chance to see a sea anemone and of course “Nemo” (clown fish). There were several star fish clusters so we tried picking up some. We also chanced upon a sea slug that expelled its guts.

Facing the shoreline of Elsalvador
Why do I like this beach? It actually gives a sense of retreat as you are rather far from the City yet you’re not totally far away from the City so it’s not really an uncomfortable ride going home.

Elsalvador Cottages lining on the beach
The sand is rather okay so you can even go barefoot if you want. For those who don’t like the beach (though I’ve only known a rare few people who don’t) there’s a nice pool with a good amount of shade.

The pool in the resort
For those who want to stay in for the night the rooms would be priced around 1200-2000php. Too bad we weren’t able to try the rooms though but the external design does look good.

Available rooms for the guests

Mango Crepe
They also have a restaurant just by the beach but we didn’t try out many of their main course meals. We just went directly for desserts such as the Mango Crepe in the picture up there. I think it was around 90php for the crepe. It was okay though.

White sands on the beach itself
Conclusion
I liked it.
(Okay so much for a thorough review)
Fine fine, I liked it BUT it wasn’t as impressive as other beaches. I guess if you’re planning to have fun and stuff I do recommend creating your own activities ahead. Snorkeling, not too much to see there. Sand is great for team building games and stuff.
The guys in the resort should provide some sort of activities and stuff. The beach is rather small but not crowded.
Will the Photoblogger go back there? Maybe, maybe not. We’ll see
