Big Food Event in Cebu this October!

Calling all food lovers in Cebu!

Do you like/love food? (duh) Well then this will definitely be something you will watch out for. There’s a MAJOR food event in Cebu on October! October 7-9 to be exact.

Last Saturday I was invited to the press launch for the ICCON 2010. No big right? This is just one of those “small food events” where there are some small food display, nothing out of the usual right? WRONG!

ICCON or International Culinary Congress (emphasis on the word international) will be held in Waterfront Hotel in Cebu. This is held by Grand Hope Ventures, Angelita Dy and Bernadette Jinco, in partnership with UC-Cebu Main Campus HRM department.

So what’s to be expected? We got from UC-Main HRM departmen, Marv, and Bernadette Jinco to talk about what to expect from the whole thing.

There will be a couple of speakers: FBMAS (Food and Beverage Managers Association in Singapore) president, Mr. Hai Poh Cheong, Singapore Executive Chef, Matthew Yim, CEO of Pages Holdings, Inc., Manuel Bunny Pages and many more
There will be a student category competition in partnership with University of Cebu:

Napkin Folding
Fruit and Vegetable Carving
Flairtending
Dress a cake
Lobby Centerpiece making
3 Tier Cake
Artistic Bread Showpiece
Chefs Relay
Celebrity Showcase

But for those of us who are viewing and can’t afford to pay for 800php without selling their souls (yes I’m one of ‘em) then all we need to do is purchase the 50php ticket for viewing the contests (dunno if that’s exactly the amount, do correct if I’m wrong, wasn’t able to bring my handy-dandy notebook X_X)
