Me with Tito Theodore

Me with Tito Theodore

As Christmas is fast approaching we need to make pansin to our Titos and Titas in the hope that they shall include is in their X-mas shopping list.

Who is Tito Jehz? Jehzeel Theordore H. Laurente, also known as Jeh-jeh, jehzlau, nyok, tito J, SEO master, Blue stickman, and many other names, is an SEO master in the Philippine setting. He is a friend to almost everyone and an inspiration to all wannabe SEOerz.

So why is he worthy to be posted in a photoblog that is barely viewed by anyone except for some people who leaves comments like “great blog! I bookmarked it, I’ll come back here again soon” only to never see that viewer again?

Tito Jehz is a powerful figure in the net. Despite his undeniable omnipotence in the theoretical world called the Internet Community he is still very humble and share his blessings to the many beggars and freeloaders in the net such as I. This man is feeding poor bloggers like me like a mother feeding a baby some breastmilk (no, not literally).

I am very thankful for having met this really cool guy who has done a lot for me when I first entered the wild theoretical world called the Online Community. Happy Birthday Tito Jehz and may you enjoy your birthday. :)

*note to everyone, yes this is a sponsored post just like Mica’s, you can see that there is the keyword Tito Jehz with the corresponding linke, and yes we are getting freakishly rich from Blogging about Jehzlau, please make your posts now about why you love Jehzlau and get 500$.

*Jehz, ayaw nalang kahibung ngano naay mga e-mails na magdemand ug 500$ para sa ila post

Photostalking 101: Curse of the Golden Flower

Curse of the Golden Flower of Shanghai

Curse of the Golden Flower of Shanghai

Another one of my records from my Shanghai trip before, I saw this beautiful Fil-Chi who caught my attention. Sigh. Oh how she mesmerized me with her snow white complexion and her jet black hair. She was from a different group sa Shanghai tour so we only got to “meet” each other when we have group tours.

So I the utilized my 300mm lens (hihihihihih) to take a shot of this “rare flower” of Shanghai. So tame, so smooth, so beautiful. I remember someone telling me her name, but now I forgot it.

So how to photostalk?

  • Use a good zoom lens
  • Take pictures of subjects close to the ACTUAL subject
  • Pay close attention to subject’s eyes so you can shift lens position when she looks at you
  • Take a good look at people around you so that you don’t get caught stalking her
  • Take shots when something else is going on so no one’s focusing on you
  • Take your shots fast, test your settings on a different subject before shooting actual subject as to avoid time wasting.
  • Take the shots fast, don’t stay on focus on the subject for more than 5 seconds, it’s too risky

What’s the easier way to photostalk?

  • Say hi
  • say your name
  • Ask permission to take the shot

And here’s a result from me doing the second one. :P

I asked her permission to take a shot while she did the bridge cross challenge

I asked her permission to take a shot while she did the bridge cross challenge

(gawd, I can’t get over zhang zi yi :P )

A rare beauty in the North…                                                   北方有佳人
She’s the finest lady on earth                                                  绝世而独立
One glance from her, the city falls                                        一顾倾人城
A second glance leaves the whole nation in ruins        再顾倾人国
There is no city or nation that has been                            宁不知倾城与倾国
More cherished than a beauty like this                              佳人难再得

The Sun Will Come Out, Tomorrow

Sunset

Sunset

The sun will come out, tomorrow. Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, there’ll be sun…

This picture was take in Asturias, Cebu. The place has a beautiful sunset. And the sun doesn’t set very fast so you can take a good grasp of the beauty that emmanates from such natural wonder. Feats your eyes on the Asturias sunset. I had no difficulty in getting this sunset picture. It was just waiting in front of me to be taken.

*Remember to take pictures of sunset at high apertures (preferably f 8.0 also known as the sweet spot) and use filters (but I didn’t use filters for this one).  The essence of sunset photography is not in the sun itself but rather on the things that surround the sun. Be it the calm sea that embraces it, or the bouncing mountains that hide it, be watchful for the elements that give life to your sunset.

This picture is a reminder to me of how we all can have that another chance. For some of us a sunset may symbolizes the end of the day. For me it marks the chance of a new day for tomorrow.

Rest our burdened souls. Bid the sandman to throw sand on our eyes. Let these mirrors of our soul slowly close and welcome the escape from reality. And when our mortal instruments be well rested and renewed, we awake to greet the warmth of Apollo, as another new day begins. For we shall always remember after a hard day’s effort, the sun will come out, tomorrow….

Pay it Forward

Pay it Forward

Woot! A toblerone Photocontest! I was able to see this in Winston’s blog here and many others. Call me a freeloader but who can deny the power of something that is for free? So I might as well give it a shot using the photo above.

And of course, my picture has a story that goes with it.

This picture was taken on the Sinulog 2007 right after mass. I’ve seen this woman in Redemptorist Church a lot. Dressed in her shabby garment and carrying what is left of her material belongings in a plastic bag, she then proceeds to mass praising God for the blessings she has received.

After the mass, she then walks outside and a generous soul offered what this lonely woman needed: a friend. Let us not be fooled into thinking that gratitude be spread through mere material belongings but also with the small things we do such as smiling and greeting.

Pay it forward.

(but I would be extremely grateful if I get some free Chocolates. mmm..)

Shanghai Stroll

quick peek, what's for dinner

quick peek, what's for dinner

Gentlemen Tsao (not real name)  walks around the streets of Shanghai bidding everyone a good evening. Dressed in is smart suit and his pair of slacks, truly he is dressed as a gentlemen. Along with him is his neat paperbag with his treasures neatly arranged. Wonderful evening it is for Mr. Tsao and he seemed to enjoy his evening. Strolling around in the well-lit streets,  the cold bothers him not as he stretches his face, sharing a priceless treasure called a smile.

Such a wonderful evening it is for a lovely stroll in the cultural capital of China. But a wonderful evening would not be complete without a fulfilling meal. So Mr. Tsao then heads to his favorite corner where all the delicious treats are forsaken. And so he he bends down as he peep into his Silver Container where dinner shall be served.

I took this photo in Shanghai, China in one government sponsored study tour. This man amazed me because he looked well dressed but then all of a sudden he bends down and scavenges the trash can. A meal waiting for him in the bossom of the shiny container.

It reminds me of how I should be grateful for the little things that can make my day and shove away those things that ruin it.

Life should be more like a Shanghai Stroll.

Wawa Milk, the most delicious Canned Milk

Wawa Milk 哇哇牛奶

Wawa Milk 哇哇牛奶

A few years ago I had the opportunity to go to Shanghai, China and even few years before that I had the same opportunity with Beijing and Shanghai.

As I was looking through my archives I came across this picture. Wawa Milk 哇哇牛奶. My favorite milk drink. I have only been able to drink this in China and I would love to get my hands on this once more. Priced at 5元 or 34 php in our place, I find it worth my cash.  Hopefully someday I ‘ll get the chance to buy this drink once more.

I love Wawa Milk!
