Philippine Blog Awards 09: Visayas

IMG_0287Last October 18,2009 the Philippine Blog awards entered the humble island of Cebu for the 3rd Philippine Blog Awards Visayas Leg.

It was a fun filled evening as bloggers from different parts of the Philippines gathered for the awarding of the Special awards for the Visayas Region. Apart from just the awarding it was a great time for the a noob like The Photoblogger to meet the masters.

I was very happy to meet the masters such as Kuya Markku, Winston, Kuya Juned

, Yoshke and many more. What was even more surprising was the award that I also got. Globe Tribe award was given to 10 bloggers considered influential in Visayas. I didn’t expect that I would get an award since I myself was an organizer (though I still feel like I didn’t do much of the work) of the said event. I’m also ever thankful for the two friends who came all the way from Manila and who are so close to my heart:

I had a great time meeting new people and it was fun while the whole thing lasted. This whole event would have not been possible if not for the constant efforts of Kuya Juned, our president, and also the team. I’d also like to make a special mention for Coy who was present in both the Luzon Leg and Visayas Leg for PBA. And guess what, he’ll also be flying to CDO for the Mindanao Leg. So fellow Bloggers from Mindanao, watch out for this awesome Vlogger. Of course the major efforts for the Visayas Leg of the Philippine Blog Awards would be given to Winston Almendras who did all the major preparations such as the venue, food, pre-registration, and flying back and forth three times here to Cebu on his own expense just to get everything done.

But I would really want to thank The Philippine Blog Awards team for having given me the opportunity to participate in the organizing of this wonderful event. Thank you guys! It has been a great honor for a noob like me.

The night ended with a cool raffle which Bryan, Jorich, Atty. Ouano, Tiborsho, and James won. Thank you Globe for being one of the major sponsors! I can’t wait to try out the Globe Tattoo which I won with the Eee PC which I won.

Gawd I love free.
