STD, What’s that?

In today’s generation we have more and more people becoming open to sexual activities as early as the teenage years. This post is hopefully not for scaring but for educating people on safety and prevention. Prevention is always better than the cure itself.

What is STD? Sexually transmitted diseases are basically diseases transmitted, well, sexually. This means these are passed on during the act of sexual intercourse. Examples of these are Trichomoniasis, Herpes, Syphilis, and the more feared one: AIDS.

AIDS or Acquired Immune Deficiency syndrome is the final stage for the HIV or Human Immunodeficiency Virus. In the recent news we are aware now that the practice of unsafe sex is rampant among call center agents as they indulge in multiple partners and lack of condom usage. The number has been quite alarming but I still would like to put in context that this is not to scare you but to educate you one what should be done.

Healthcare providers and Disease control centers will strongly suggest the use of Condoms for safe sex but personally I believe that Abstinence and monogamy is the best way to control the spread of the diseases. In order to learn more about STD’s you can check out information in the STD clinic.
