Twenteen going Twenty

Good friends on a good day

I have to admit for quite some time I was still in denial of the fact that I’ve left the teenage life and entered a new world of adulthood (although this is what others claim to be a transitional phase before I turn 21). I’ve delayed this post for some time because I was never really a big fan of my own birthday, in fact, I despised it.

My birthdays are usually filled with disappointment and misfortunes despite all the well wishers but that’s not why I’m writing this. I’m writing this because I’m thankful.

With my very first Best friend: Enad :D He can recall the details of our friendship

I’m thankful for having friends who remembered my birthday even if it wasn’t in my Facebook, plurk, or twitter profile details. I’m thankful for my family who despite their busy schedule could still take time to spend time with me and friends to celebrate that day. I’m thankful for my friends who despite their distance, they *nyok* still *nyok* remembered me. (special mention to Mica, Jehz and winst for being earliest to greet). I’m thankful for those people who were, are, and will be there for me no matter what happens to me. Most of all I’m thankful to God who ALWAYS makes it right after all seemed wrong and hopeless.

The Bonifacio siblings, and yes, they are related to Andres Bonifacio... i'm serious

So I don’t care if my birthday will never be the way I hoped it would at least be, at least these people in my life will always be what completes my birthday.

My first real crush and long time bestpren: riz :D

I’m also writing so that I can probably read this later and at least remember what I did on that day:

Dear future me, here are a few things you should try to remember on that Busy thursday:

1. You still had to think about Ecology and Limnology Final exams on Friday.
2.You wore your favorite green polo (which by the time you’re rereading this is already faded and no longer your favorite)
3.You wore Atlantis (and is probably the last time you’ll wear it for a special day)
4.You guys ate in Tsim Sha Tsui because your Dim Sum crave has been going on for a month.
5.You invited Carmela, Joey, Anesa, Dane, Doi,and Bryan
6.You guys then went to Red Mango
7.Doi gave you an awesome cool notebook and you used it for blogging events and I hope you’re still using it till now (that is you’re not to busy for Med school)
8.Riz gave you a cool new perfume which you will totally replace your Bench Atlantis (and if you recall 8 years ago from the time I’m writing this, she gave you the Bench Atlantis)
9.You were fat, like round cheeks and all. 0_0 I hope you’re not fat when you’re reading this.
10.You vowed to start running on sembreak and while I’m writing this yes, you were running already. I hope you’re still running.
11.You spent the afternoon hanging out with the BSMT 1k people eating Shakeys pizza cuz Meriel got it on buy 1 get 1 free pizza and some drinks thing.
12.You had desserts (lotsa ice cream with the BSMT-1k gang) in the pharmacy.
13.Oh and you and Bonnie had a practical exam using crude drawings on a place mat in Tsim sha tsui. and if you look closely that’s your pathetic drawing of the Human Caterpillar… or was the the centipede.

Hmmmmm. I think those will be the highlights that I wanna remember when a year later.

Gee, this whole blogging thing is a cool way to write things I might wanna recall later on. :D

Whew, twenteen… okay twenty (now I’m gonna step off my denial phase). Now that I’ve exited the month of October I’m hopefully gonna enter this whole new world of responsibility. Hopefully things are gonna be a lot more difficult. New life, new changes, and hopefully new me.

Two decades and counting. Jia you!!

MORE PICS AS YOU SCROLL DOWN :D

This reminds me of my teenage days :D

Bloggers unite :D

My chikka mate and travel mate: Doi Damaasin.. I mean Domasian :P

My first blogging mentor and still bestpren :D

I swear they were supposed to do a dance number, oh well, I guess the matching shirts fooled me.

This one I'll never forget :D

hey JC, thanks though I still cringe when I hear *20′s lol. I’ll accept this, I know I will :D

Oh, so it seems you’ve finally embraced the beauty of becoming twenty. Congratulations. Please help me embrace that reality when my time comes. Hahaha!

Thanks for allowing me to play a role in half of you present lifespan. I hope we can remain that bond in the years to come (which I’m sure, it will).

BTW, I had fun reading your list. (So there’s a story about Atlantis then.)
